presentation

Here is the first cd released by the label , LA VIE EN BLEU, by too rare pianist Serge Forté, recorded in 1992, in a mood of complete spontaneity and improvisation, with contrebassist Claude Mouton and drummer Laurent Robin, on the exceptional piano FAZIOLI .

  • A real desire to record on this amazing piano ,
love a first sight for Serge Forté.
  • A true challenge, to take seven songs from the greatest classics of the French Song and to dress them up in Jazz (the original tunes from Brassens, Brel, Gainsbourg, Montand, Piaf, Salvador and Trénet).

The recording conditions were extreme :

  • with only two digital tracks and no safety net,
  • the musicians positioned without seeing each other, because the place, a piano shop, was not supposed to become a studio, and the other pianos start resonating !
  • the bassist was in the workshop, the drummer in the office upstair, all playing with headphones,
  • and only having three hours to record the whole thing !
  • And what’s more, it was the first time these artists were performing together.…
The resulting record is an osmos, reaching beyond magic and time.

And then there was nothing, the recording remained buried in drawers for many years, until it was recently remastered with the help of Studio La Buissonne, then the decision in September 2001 to build the label Ella Productions, so you have now this opportunity to meet Serge Forté, an exceptional virtuoso pianist, so in love with the melody and colorful harmonies.
